The 2009 Oval Racing Spectaculars started with a tribute to Lewis Hamilton 2008 Formula 1 World Champion and was followed by a pre-recorded introduction to the show by David Coulthard.

The cars thundered in and the racing started with the two heats for the BRISCA F2s followed by National Autograss Class 7.  Oval Track Legends made their first ever appearance the NEC and were quickly followed by Hot Rods, BRISCA F1 Stock Cars and another NEC first - National Bangers.  

The host for the evening was Dave Richardson.

Starters were Helen and Richard Kaleta and racing commentaries were from Nick Knowles, Jeffrey Parrish and David Addison.

 The ever popular stunt driver Terry Grant provided entertainment between the two sets of heats and finals.

The finals followed the same order of BRISCA F2s, Autograss Class 7s, Oval Track Legends, Hot Rods, BRISCA F1 Stock Cars and National Bangers with
