THE OVAL RACING SPECTACULAR 2005
in the Autosport International Live Action Arena - NEC Birmingham
Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th January 2005

   At 6 pm on Saturday 15th January the action started  when the Spedeworth V8 stock cars thundered out in to the Arena for their first heats, quickly followed by Superstoxs, Autograss, Hot Rods and finally the awesome BRISCA F1 stock cars and didn’t stop until the spectacular finale by Terry Grant and the Kangaroo Kid, Matt Coulter.

The evening was hosted by Dave Richardson and Louise People.

Between the two sets of heats the audience was entertained by the Autograss veteran super star shoot between the “Grassin’ Gladiators; Vinny Gibbons, Mal Cooper, Chris Allanson and Andrew Horshaw.

Then before the finals the legendary Barry Lee and George Polley showed they’d lost none of their skill and charisma.

The cream of British drivers from Oval Racing and Autograss to thrilled the fans as they battled to harness the sheer power and noise created in the unique atmosphere at the NEC.


On Sunday 16th at 4.30pm the Live Action Arena once again was filled to capacity with Oval and Autograss fans to watch the BRISCA F2, Stock Rods, Autograss and BRISCA F1 cars wield their power.  

Again the audience was entertained by George, Barry and the “Grassin Gladiators between racing and Terry and Matt for the Grand Finale.
 

These two shows certainly got the 2005 racing season off to a “spectacular” start.
