Whatever your agenda for this year’s show, make some time to visit the Santa Pod Raceway stand at Autosport International 2010 – packed with a selection of the finest and fastest machines in the sport!

The main drag racing stand is open on Saturday and Sunday and is situated in the oval racing section on stand 9370. Why not come and meet the team, find out about this season’s events and check out some simply unbelievable machinery? As one of the most popular show and race venues in the UK, Santa Pod Raceway continually lifted the bar in terms of content, diversity and attendance throughout the ’09 calendar and there’s even more in store this year!. Listed below are some of the technical highlights of this year’s show.


Top Fuel Dragster - Drag Racing’s premier class is represented by former FIA Champion Andy Carter with his 300mph Top Fuel Dragster. Sponsored by Lucas Oils, this 8000bhp missile is capable of over 300mph in less than 5 seconds and Andy will be happy to enlighten you about his experiences behind the wheel!

Jet Funny Car - Martin Hill’s world record breaking Jet Funny Car has in the past clocked a spectacular 336mph at Santa Pod and never fails to impress the crowds. Powered by a Pratt & Whitney engine from a Skycrane helicopter this fire-breathing beast guzzles 120 litres of aviation fuel per appearance on the track!

John Spuffard’s “Showtime” Funny Car – this beautiful car debuted at Santa Pod this year and turned many heads. Wild runs with speeds reaching 300mph.

Nurturing young talent in the sport is close to the heart of the ‘Pod and the latest acquisition to the fleet is the superbly engineered Junior Funny Car. As a perfectly formed miniature of the real thing, this pocket rocket is available to propel the stars of tomorrow down the strip in 2010.

Showcasing one of Santa Pod’s more outrageous steeds, we will also be bringing back the ever-popular Podzilla, the Pod’s very own extreme Monster Truck. Driven by ex-World Champion Drew Thornton, Podzilla is several tons of nitro-burning nonsense that looks the part even when parked up. Taking a well-earned break from car and caravan crushing, it’s a fantastic photo opportunity during the show.

Completing the line-up will be Santa Pod’s very own Top Fuel Bike – and a tip of the hat to the circuit racing fraternity with Paul Cowland’s Santa Pod sponsored Golf Gti race car. This modified hot hatch also reflects the massive variety of ‘tuner’ events that the ‘Pod has to offer throughout the year

Santa Pod also welcomes the younger race fan and has proved to be a very popular venue with families. If you visit the stand this year then bring your camera and have a very special souvenir picture taken with “Nitro” our dragon mascot whilst sitting in Santa Pod’s very own Junior Dragster. Don’t forget to visit the merchandise trailer for some great Santa Pod gifts and souvenirs.
